"Almost 2,000 pounds of lutefisk"

I was entering events into the Good Age calendar today when I came upon an email from Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They host an annual lutefisk dinner in which they serve (as this blog title suggests) almost 2,000 lbs of lutefisk to nearly 1,500 people! I would imagine those are the lone 1,500 people in the world who like the lye-soaked fish...
Anyway, if you're one of those folks this is the event to attend. It's the 79th such meal of its kind and includes lutefisk, meatballs, boiled potatoes, lefse, limpa bread, rutabagas, beet pickles, and ending with rice pudding and lingonberry sauce. Serving time is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12. No advance ticket sales. Proceeds will benefit the ministries of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave., Minneapolis.
Skal!
